Red Art – Red Shift by Cildo Meireles
How about this for a red colour scheme? This room is one of a three-part art installation by Brazilian artist Cildo Meireles called Red Shift (1967-84).
Meireles’ concept was to create, ‘a place in which someone, for some reason – whether due to preference, mania, imposition or circumstance – would accumulate in a given place the greatest possible number of objects in different shades of red.’
Hmm, I wonder what he must think of us at Red Candy..?
