A magnificent timepiece made to resemble galvanized steel dockyard buildings from a bygone era, the Thomas Kent Wharf Clock - Soaped Oak brings the past back to life!
Inspired by the architecture of these buildings in the heyday of the wharf, the clock bears the name of this imposing structure. It’s framed by a steel ring nailed firmly around the wood block and serving as case, and also features a saw tooth hanger at the back to ensure a steady grip, and an open face dial. The galvanized metal edge is rounded off by a pair of metal files that play the part of the hands, pinned down by a fixing nut that resembles a nail. Measuring 38cm in diameter and 3cm in depth, this large wall clock runs on a single AA battery.
The dial features a Northern-European style soap finish. Ethically sourced and eco-friendly, unlike most other wood finishes out there, the soap comes in a very thin and clear layer that doesn’t take away any of the wood grain’s natural splendour.
The large-print markers painted directly on the wood make it easier to move the clock from one corner of the room to the other without hindering the time reading. Not satisfied to be locked in a time warp, the clock will complement a contemporary furnished room, and complete a seafaring themed décor!
