Style edit: pretty pastels
Pastel hues are set to be a hot trend in 2017, with soft and calming interiors being favoured by designers. These lovely tones exude relaxation, and therefore can be used to create light and tranquil atmosphere in your interior.
They are therefore perfect for rooms which don’t have much natural light, and also bedrooms; adults can happily lay their head surrounded by a mint green wall, whilst soft blue and pink are perfect for children’s rooms!
In particularly soft pinks and powder blues will be prevalent this year, with pale yellow and mint green also coming through. Pantone hinted at this pastel trend late last year with their Day Dreaming home palette – see below! They even described the palette as “a series of pleasant thoughts that distract our attention from the present”; reflecting on our need for home to be escapism from external pressures!
